![]() ![]() That doesn't look to be changing just yet, so the covers showcase post-Episode V mainstays like Luke Skywalker, Doctor Aphra, Lando Calrissian, Princess Leia, Darth Vader and Beilert Valance. The key difference between these new covers and the old is that Marvel's current crop of Star Wars comics is mainly set in between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Colorist Nolan Woodward takes the homage a step further by limiting himself to only colors that were available in 1983. It makes sense that Marvel would turn to Ordway to handle these covers, as Ordway famously adapted 1989's Batman in photorealistic detail in Batman: The Official Movie Adaptation. Dubbed "Classic Trade Dress Variant Covers," these images are meant to evoke both the composition and trade dress of the original Return of the Jedi comics from 1983. ![]()
